Undoubtedly, in current times frameworks have become essential for the development of applications and solutions on the internet, specifically for the "web" interface, since the standards of complexity are always increasing considerably, as well as all the necessary expertise. Because of this, it's completely irrational to reinvent the wheel for such complex technologies, assuming you can reinvent all of it.
Quite simply, a “web” application has a Back-End (server-side) and a Front-End (client-side). Therefore, in this special article I will introduce you to the best backend frameworks as well as the frontend frameworks of the moment. Feel free to post suggestions in the comments if you know any more. framework interesting! 😉
For Front End
React: One of the best known, React is not exactly a framework, but rather a Front End library, but many developers consider it a framework and it is often compared in that context. In addition, React was the first to adopt the component-based architecture that Angular it's the see and many other frameworks started to adopt later because of the ease of application. Still, it's important to note that React's virtual domain makes handling much faster and is very easy to learn, especially thanks to its JSX syntax. React can be used server-side or client-side. It was developed and maintained by Facebook and is used by Facebook and Instagram in present times.
Ember: In practice, Ember was named the best JavaScript framework in the year 2015. Today, the Ember community is huge and constantly growing exponentially, with new features and releases being added on a regular basis. Also, Ember has the bidirectional data binding that Angular has and comes with a bunch of features and components that you can use out of the box. Ember revolves around developer productivity and tries to maximize developer productivity by eliminating the need for time-wasting activities or adopting some JS best practices in its core design.
Angular: The well-known Angular is a frontend framework that specializes in building advanced single-page applications. It is a very complex framework and capable of creating complete client-side (“Front-End”) applications. The main cons of Angular are its size compared to other frameworks and the fact that it is not SEO friendly by nature, although it can be optimized for SEO – Search Engine Optimization.
For Back End
Laravel: One of the best known, Laravel is a framework considered as “Model-View-Controller” that uses the PHP programming language as a base – one of my favorites by the way, which is one of the most used languages today. It is relatively young compared to other structures on this list. Furthermore, Laravel comes natively with API support and has a relevant amount of packages that can extend its reach.
Rails: Rails follows the same framework as before and which uses Ruby and is a very popular framework and many developers love this technology. Rails is used by Airbnb, GitHub, Hulu and Shopify today. Also, Rails is a friendly framework for those just starting out, and while the fact that there is a lot of magic behind the scenes in this framework is debated based on pros and cons, it does help beginners get started with web development with a lot of ease.
In context and in conclusion, don't be afraid to define a certain structure and start working on that same structure. Undoubtedly, you will get an idea of how things are done and you will find many similarities between the frameworks, even in different languages in the same category. Remember that big companies are always migrating and testing new things all the time, so there is no dead end.
