If you intend to register a domain ending in .with, .net, .org, .biz or .info, for example, it is not necessary inform your CPF or CNPJ.
However, if you are interested in registering a domain ending .br, that is, a national domain, it will be necessary inform your CPF and/or CNPJ to register and renew the domain. These rules follow the rules of a national entity called Registro.br (address www.registro.br ).
Some extensions (or “TLD“) of domains are reserved for registration by legal entities, needing to have a CNPJ. There are already others for self-employed professionals and one for individuals, both requiring a CPF number.
The registration of some .br extensions/DPNs of legal entities requires the submission of additional documentation, including sending letters to Registro.br. However, it is important to remember that it is not valid for all extensions, only some.
