THE Google reCAPTCHA is already more found on a website. However, in the new version, Google only shows a badget in the lower right corner. In practice, it is often not very elegant and for that reason I will show in this article how to remove the Google reCAPTCHA badget on your website, especially WordPress.
For many years, Google has provided the reCAPTCHA v2 (second version). Let's say it's pretty confident, but it's an inconvenience for some users, because you have to solve “puzzles”. And often several of them in a row. For this and other reasons, Google introduced the reCAPTCHA v3 (third version), a much better, complete and secure version of the famous reCAPTCHA. See below:
But before we go any further, it's important to explain some important points, okay? Come on… In practice, can I just remove the emblem (in legal terms)? Yes, according to Google FAQ about reCAPTCHA, you can hide the seal.
however you must put a note in the footer of the site, for example. Therefore, you are allowed to hide the badge as long as you include the reCAPTCHA tag visibly in the user flow. Google, in turn, suggests this text for footer addition:
This site is protected by reCAPTCHA and the Google. <a href="https://policies.google.com/privacy">Privacy Policy</a> and <a href="https://policies.google.com/terms">Terms of Service</a> apply.
All you need to do is include this line of code in your CSS file:
.grecaptcha-badge { visibility: hidden; }
If you prefer, just add in the header:
.grecaptcha-badge { visibility: hidden; }
If the CSS doesn't work correctly, you can simply insert this line in your WordPress CSS, for example: in Appearance -> Customize > Additional CSS.
Notice that you are not using display: none; under any circumstances! This, in theory, will disable reCAPTCHA's spam protection. Hope I helped with this quick tutorial! 🙂
