Review: A Possible Dream

“The Blind Side” tells a perfect story based on real facts of a boy who was separated from his mother and also from his brothers when he was still a child. It arouses the attention of Leigh Anne, who soon offers to help him and then adopt him as a son and member of his family. Check out my review!

The story impresses with the details. It shows how there are still many prejudiced people, in addition to showing that, despite these prejudices continue to exist, there are still good people in the world willing to help others who really need it, regardless of color, religion, political position and social class.

The film shows us that, in fact, dreams are possible. Michael did poorly in school with very low averages, but that family believed him. His private teacher believed him. Michael had a hard time studying and, being able to learn all that and getting a good average to earn a sports scholarship They were definitely the biggest challenges. For this, he had to work hard, to overcome his difficulties and overcome the challenge.

The challenges faced by Michael, however, were not just in his studies. Despite being good at sports, Michael had a hard time getting along. confront the player of the other team, as can be seen in several parts of the film. He liked protecting people, not going against them in combat. In this way, he had to overcome to reach his goal.

However, this was another difficulty overcome with the support of his new family, so much so that he became the best player of your school team. With that, Michael was disputed by great teams, and after having chosen the Mississippi, he still had a lot of prominence in his team.

The friendship between Michael and the youngest SJ, son of Leigh Anne, was one of the most interesting points of the film, combined also with the total lack of prejudice, added to an immense kindness and solidarity. After all, SJ is a young man, while Michael was in his early twenties (they don't know for sure, as he had almost no legal documentation).

In fact, it is the family that welcomes him, made up of the aforementioned SJ and Leigh Anne, along with father Sean and the daughter Collins, are an endangered species in the world today: people really good. Like every family, they make their mistakes, they have their doubts, but they strive to do their best in front of everyone, and they really do.

Michael's “bulky” physique was one of the factors that made him accepted at the school. He was able (literally) to practice sports, but his “hands on” would be a problem to be faced when training. However, Michael eventually finds his way and becomes a professional football player, coveted by several coaches in the United States.

The film's director, Lee Hancock, comes out well ahead of the feature. Inspired by the fantastic story he tells, the filmmaker follows an epic path, always maintaining the good progress of his work. Due to the young man's suffering past, drama is a fundamental part of a film, being exemplified through the constant "shocks" of reality, felt by the high-end family, who realize their "distance" from a universe that sneaks on the fringes of society.

Even so, in “Um Sonho Possível” there are several moments that are of a very “radiant” joy, as, for example, in the scene in which the two brothers train and perform exercises, having fun and laughing in the sun. In addition, the other scenes of joy present in the film are fantastic, not appealing much to the original story.

On the other hand, Leigh Anne (Sandra Bullock) stands out. Your vigor and attitude they are practically an externalization of behavior rather than an interpretation in itself. Undoubtedly, it's very difficult to impersonate someone "truly good" without seeming too forced... and the actress manages to do that. For this excellent performance (in fact), she was awarded the Oscars and the Golden Globes.
