Groove Street, just as it was 11 years ago, is still the home of CJ or, for those closest, Carl Johnson, who returns to Los Santos after learning of his mother's death. In contact with old friends, and his brother, Sweet, he gets involved again with the criminal world and with gang battles.

From the first to the last minute of play, San Andreas is exactly the same as in 2004, with its wide streets, dark alleys, suspicious pedestrians and insane drivers. Commercial establishments, NPCs and various points of interest also had their location maintained on the game's vast map.

The objective is to navigate the map to the marked characters, who will give tasks to CJ. The order of these missions is non-linear, allowing the player to decide which ones he wants to accomplish first, without the obligation to follow a stipulated pattern.

One of the most interesting points is that even after 11 years of existence, the missions present in GTA San Andreas are still extremely fun and varied, as if they hadn't suffered from the natural aging over time, so common in video games today in day. During the game, it's practically impossible Feel bored with the rhythm of the story mode, which alternates between the “quiet” action parts to the most extreme ones.

The game takes place in the “fictional” state of San Andreas, where there are three large metropolises: San Fierro, Las Venturas and Los Santos (the latter is present in the para Grand Theft Auto V). Set in late 1992, San Andreas' plot is based around gangs, where Carl Johnson, returns to his home in Los Santos, after a long season in Liberty City (the fictional version of New York), after discovering his mother's death.

With that, CJ finds his old gang and his family, the Grove Street Families, in complete abandonment. As the game progresses, Carl Johnson gradually discovers who is behind the murder of your mother, while re-establishing the gang and exploring his own forays into the most diverse businesses throughout San Andreas.

GTA San Andreas is structured in a very similar way to the series' predecessors Grand Theft Auto. The central part of the game consists of elements known as SandBox, that is, an open world that allows the player to interact and move around in any way they want.

On foot, the CJ can be controlled by the player and is able to walk, swim and dive, climb and jump, among others. In fact, this is one of the most praised points by Rockstar Games fans. In addition, the player can also control different types of vehicles throughout San Andreas, including: cars, trucks, planes, helicopters, trains, tank, motorcycles, bicycles, boats, among others.

The SandBox system allows players to explore and choose as they wish. Although the game's missions are necessary for progress and even for unlock other cities, they are not mandatory, and players can complete them whenever they wish, and simply “roam around” the territories when they are not currently complying.

In addition to the traditional missions, the player can also participate in "optional missions", including: driving a taxi, putting out fires with a fire engine, driving an ambulance through the city and fighting crime, such as Punisher, between others. The interesting fact is that, the player can develop their skills in several segments spread throughout San Andreas.

Unlike previous games, such as: Grand Theft Auto Vice City and Grand Theft Auto III, which needed a new "load" whenever the player moved to different districts, GTA: San Andreas is different, and does not have any type “loading” while the player is moving.

However, the game uses proximity rendering techniques, that is, the location around you is only “rendered” when you are close to it. The only “loading” scenes in the game are present in the cutscenes, or, even before showing the interiors of environments, such as residences, for example.

All characters that appear in GTA: San Andreas are relatively varied, and are directly related to the perspectives of the cities and locations in which each of them is located; this gives the game greater breadth to plots and locations than its predecessors.

During the game you will have 110 missions “basics” for you to follow throughout the three cities across San Andreas: Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas; in order to “unwind” the plot and for you to understand better, several missions and triathlons can also be done in other areas, more specifically, in the interior of San Andreas.

Like its predecessors, GTA: San Andreas has a wide variety of music tracks available, taken especially from the period in which the game was set, ie, in the early 1990s. In addition to several famous artists included in the soundtrack , GTA: San Andreas is served by eleven radio stations; WCTR (talk radio), Radio X, Radio Los Santos, Master Sounds 98.3, K-Jah West, CSR, SF-UR, Bounce FM, K-DST, K-Rose and Playback FM.

The sound system used in the game also underwent several improvements, from what was used in previous games in the series. If previously each station was, in essence, a single sound file being looped, in GTA: San Andreas it is randomly but intelligently separated and combined, something that provided, at least at the time, an even greater immersion in the game.
