How to record Windows screen

Recording your computer screen can be a useful way to capture tutorials, product demos, gameplay, and more. Fortunately, recording your Windows screen is a simple task, and there are a number of free tools available to help you do it. In this article, we are going to take a look at some of the best ways to record your Windows screen.

Windows 10 and 11 Screen Recording

If you have Windows 10, you can use the “Game Bar” app to record your screen. The Game Bar is primarily designed for gaming, but it can also be used to record other types of activities on your screen.

To get started, open the app or game you want to record and press the “Windows” key + “G” on your keyboard. This will open the Game Bar. If this is your first time using the Game Bar, it will ask if you want to open the Game Bar. Click on “Yes, this is a game” and it will open.

Now, click the “Record” button on the game bar or press “Windows” + “Alt” + “R” on your keyboard. Recording will start immediately. When finished, click the “Stop” button on the game bar or press “Windows” + “Alt” + “R” again.

OBS Studio

OBS Studio is free open source software that allows you to record and stream your Windows screen. It is especially useful for live streaming, but it can also be used to record your screen for later viewing.

To get started, download and install OBS Studio. When ready, open the software and create a new scene by clicking on the “+” button in the “Scenes” section of the left panel. Then add a video source by clicking the “+” button in the “Sources” section of the left panel and select “Screenshot”.

You can customize recording settings such as video quality and output format by clicking the “Settings” button in the “Settings” section of the left panel. When you're ready to record, click the "Start Recording" button in the "Controls" section of the right panel.

Bandicam

Bandicam is a commercial screen recording software that allows you to record your screen with high quality. It offers advanced features like the ability to record 3D gameplay and the ability to record only a selected area of the screen.

To get started, download and install Bandicam. When ready, open the software and select the screen area you want to record. You can also customize recording settings such as video quality and output format.

To start recording, click the “Record” button on Bandicam's main panel. When finished, click the “Stop” button to save the recording whenever you want.
