Step 1: Update to iOS 15

Before you start setting up Focus Mode, make sure your iPhone is updated to iOS 15. To check for available updates, follow these steps:

1.1 Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone.

1.2 Scroll down and tap “General”.

1.3 Tap “Software Update” to check for available updates.

1.4 If there is an update available, tap “Download and Install” to update your iPhone.


Step 2: Open Focus Mode

Now that your iPhone is updated to iOS 15, you can open Focus Mode and start configuring it. Here are the steps to follow:

2.1 Open the “Settings” app on your iPhone.

2.2 Scroll down and tap “Focus Mode”.

2.3 Tap “Add Focus Mode” to create a new focus mode.

Step 3: Choose the type of Focus Mode

There are three different types of Focus Mode you can choose from: Personal, Work, and Do Not Disturb. Each type of Focus Mode has different preset settings for notifications and apps. Choose the type of Focus Mode that best suits your needs. Here are the preset settings for each type of Focus Mode:


Personal: Allows notifications from important people, such as family and close friends, and turns off all other notifications.

Work: Allows notifications from work-related apps, such as work emails and messages, and turns off all other notifications.

Do Not Disturb: Mutes all notifications and calls.

Step 4: Select the apps you want to allow

Now it's time to select the apps you want to allow in Focus Mode. You can choose specific apps to allow or disable notifications. Here are the steps to follow:


4.1 Tap “Apps” at the bottom of the screen.

4.2 Select the apps you want to allow and disable notifications.

4.3 To disable notifications from an app, tap on the app and disable the “Allow notifications” switch.

4.4 To allow notifications from an app, tap on the app and enable the “Allow notifications” switch.
