Ori is finally back after several years. In practice, in “Ori And The Will Of The Wisps” the formula used is practically the same as the previous title, but ambition, details and immersion they are literally much bigger. “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” is yet another beautiful work of art made that makes us stay engaged with the game. The previous gameOri and the Blind Forest” is, in my personal opinion, a title more than recommended and is available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers, both on Xbox One and PC where it ended up also being edited. Was it worth waiting for a new Ori game? That's what you'll see in this review, with two live broadcasts I did on Youtube!
How to define this game? It's an incredible game, with hand-drawn scenarios and an undeniable taste for creating a world rich in detail and eye-popping visual effects. Like the previous one, the best of Ori is its challenging gameplay, full of puzzles ranging from simple mechanics, there is an enormous complexity of items and scenarios in some parts of the game. The many parts of platforms act like huge puzzles, some of them challenging our dexterity and reasoning.
The cool thing is that there are no tutorials per se, just some quick tips to understand Ori's powers and how we can use them to slowly reach the new areas of the game and explore the entire map, completing the missions and challenges presented to you . Still, as it should be, expect a plot that is both elemental and something that can be considered much deeper.
Little Ori is once again the great protagonist of a story in the form of an incredible tale, full of messages and deep thoughts in different situations. The owl Ku, daughter of Kuros that we met in “Ori and the Blind Forest“, is giving its first challenges, or rather, its first wing beats. That's because their maiden flight, which happens with Ori's help, doesn't go according to plan.
With a good part of the plot taking us to a new purpose and also to the reunion of Ku, I can say that the experience is sensational and highly captivating. However, the context of Ori once again being the unlikely hero to save everything and everyone, as he is obviously the protagonist who gives the series its name, does not allow for major twists in the franchise. In short, this positive message helps to masterfully present this beautiful game, which also has excellent gameplay, amazing graphics and soundtrack.
In most situations, your main objective is to reach a specific point on the map to continue with the main storyline, fulfilling all objectives and talking to other characters. This map, as in “Ori and the Blind Forest“, it looks like a big labyrinth in a true horizontal plane – even by the map itself that you can access in the game menu.

In addition, at certain times we have to go through accesses that take us to another defined region of the same map. And there are even some more complex puzzles that rotate the scenario as a whole. This breadth of sections even gives us a sense of discovery and exploration, not least because we will have to return to some past areas, now with new abilities to enter environments that were previously inaccessible.
My opinion
- Graphics
- Interface
- Fun
- Gameplay
- Functionalities
Conclusion
Without a doubt, “Ori And The Will Of The Wisps” is an excellent example of how to execute a sequence with total mastery and essence. The same theme of the beloved original game remains true - something that is not so easy to accomplish. As a result, there is an identical and continuously improved immersion where it is really possible. Also, “Ori and the Will of the Wisps” is one of the best platformers in my honest opinion, an excellent evolution of an acclaimed game.
It is an excellent work of art in all respects, especially with its incredibly developed soundtrack, challenging us at times and telling a beautiful positive story, with great messages as well as teachings and reflections. If the first title already had an authentic legion of fans, this sequel is the best of its rewards. The game is available at no additional cost to owners of Xbox Game Pass subscription, for Windows and Xbox. So enjoy!
