Review: EarPods

You EarPods, Apple's traditional headphones, were announced a long time ago and was marked by the quality presented in the iPods and iPhones, for example. With that, they left the impression that they would be surprising headphones, accompanying the high level of technology of other gadgets. But will the apple accessory is it really superior to other headphones available on the market? Find it out!

When we first see headphones, the EarPods really surprising by design. Made of a very smooth and shiny material, with a very different design from the vast majority of headphones, the Apple accessory even gives the impression of being well above average. In other words, a product "Premium“.

THE EarPods layout, by the way, it is very interesting, and immediately leaves the curiosity of how it will fit in the ear. With a rounded shape but stretched in the area that fits in the ear, it looks a hybrid between standard and in-ear headphones – with a rubber that fits in the ear.

Because it is made of a more resistant material and because of its shape that leaves some “points”, at first the headphones may feel uncomfortable. Also, you have to adjust them a lot in the ear until they fit perfectly - which varies from person to person, of course. Once seated in the ear, however, the headphones are surprising: they “disappear" totally.

You EarPods have good sound quality, with crisp, well-engineered highs and good bass resolution. A point to be noted about the headphones is the midrange, which often disappears, especially when the volume is not very loud. The issue, in practice, is that this greatly devalues the vocals of the songs – which are usually at this frequency. So if you like listening to songs with the instruments much more “apparent” that the voice, will enjoy. If not, you'll probably be surprised.

Another issue is the audio leak through headphones. It's not absurd, but considering the quality the EarPods seem to be, it's disappointing. the accessory does not properly block external sound, which leaves you with a disadvantage that the most common earphones on the market, besides, of course, leaving the audio leaks a lot. To listen to music in noisier environments, the result will not be the best.

On the other hand, it is notable that Apple has taken great care so that the EarPods have a good finish and, most importantly, last a long time. In addition to the accessory being made with resistant and quality materials, some aspects demonstrate that it won't be easy to destroy the headphones with frequent use, which is a great point to point out.

One of the most common cases of loss of headphones is that the rubber that surrounds the wires ends up wearing out with time, as it is bent and pulled, leaving the cables exposed. With that, it's a matter of time before the phone starts to have bad contact or stops working.

However, on EarPods though, this it's harder to happen, since the accessory received a layer extra rubber on the ends close to the hardest parts of the earphone. Thus, precisely the most sensitive parts of the wire are much more protected than most headphones.
