Review: How to Train Your Dragon 2

How to Train Your Dragon 2

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is an animation that hit theaters recently, following the 2010 success. To accompany the film, a game based on it is usually also released. However, the game How to Train Your Dragon 2 reaches a very low level in terms of quality, playability and fun.

The game begins by displaying the well-known island of berk and explaining that everyone has been thriving with the new partnership between Vikings and Dragons, established in the previous film. Overall, How to Train Your Dragon 2 is basically a minigame sequel, with some events and also some multiplayer modes.

In the game it will also be possible to explore the island of berk freely, with the purpose of looking for collectible objects, but without great rewards for that action. After the initial introduction, you'll be presented with a set of varied events that you need to complete in order to reach the final objective.

Now, let's talk about gameplay, this game is incredibly bad. As if the bad gameplay wasn't enough, the dragons are absolutely slow to respond to commands and, to make matters worse, the player's camera has problems tracking their movement in real time.

Another point considered serious in an action and adventure game is the difficulty level, which in the game is absurd. To get an idea, in races, competitors need to go through all the rings to gain the minimum speed that allows them to leave the last position. That is, winning will be something that will remain out of logic for a long time.

Returning to the subject of graphics, the Island of Berk is reasonably well reproduced and, you will be able to explore it freely. However, as we can see above, the look is terrible, with very low quality textures, which looks more like a game for the PlayStation 2. Not to mention the objects that appear out of nowhere in minigames.

According to several websites specializing in games, it is one of the “worst titles released” recently. At certain times, some strange bugs appear (eg objects that appear out of nowhere, crashes, etc.) in the game that further reduces the player's expectations, causing him to get tired quickly.

My opinion
  • Graphics
  • Interface
  • Fun
  • Gameplay
  • Functionalities
2.3

Conclusion

How to Train Your Dragon 2 is a game that leaves a lot to be desired in several aspects, starting with the graphics (which are terrible), the gameplay, the features and performance. In addition, the game has several crashes and some bugs during a normal match. This game doesn't have much to talk about, except for its disadvantages.

It is worth it? No. Avoid buying the game at all costs. Unfortunately, it's not worth buying the game for several reasons, which we noticed above. However, we think you'd better buy How to Train Your Dragon (first), as it has much better graphics and gameplay than the second version.
