Just Dance 2016 is the newest game in the franchise dance from Ubisoft, with several improvements and even more fun for the whole family. By and large, the characters and dynamics remain the same. Despite this, playing Just Dance seems like it will never stop being a good entertainment program to bring all friends and family together. Find out in my review whether or not the game is worth buying!
Identical to Just Dance 2015 (check out the review!), you can use your smartphone as a control for the video game, just download the Just Dance Controller application, compatible with devices from iPhone 5c and Android 4.1 or superior. To play, hold the cell phone in your right hand and your movements will be captured by the game, with support for up to six people at the same time.
In Just Dance 2016 we have several songs in highlights, such as, for example, Born This Way by Lady Gaga, Uptown Funk in Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars, All About That Bass by Meghan Trainor, I Gotta Feeling by the Black-Eyed Peas and much more!
Just Dance 2016 brings several new modes to the series, but none really matter. There is thedance party", where players can work together in coo-op to achieve a high score or play against each other, "World Video Challenge", allowing videos to be uploaded to the Just Dance community, in addition to the "ShowTime“, where players can create music and videos.
However, the Dance Quest is the most notable addition to the game, where players face off against the avian flu in a three-song match, a very interesting contest for all to see, with more points rewarded for placing higher in a song and the player who has the most points at the end, wins the relentless pursuit.
While it's pretty cool that Ubisoft is adding new modes, not a single one brings anything definitely new for gamers. They're all just glorified ways to play the game exactly the same. There's no point in playing a forced three songs on dance mission against multiple players, for example, when you can simply play whatever three songs of your choice.
On the other hand, the game is a strong ally of fun, with stunning scenarios precisely with the beautiful choreography of the dancers that bring the game to life. And that's not all, there is a specific choreography for each type of music. The most famous ones, such as, for example, All about that Bass by Meghan Trainor, show a choreography according to the music for being on the charts.
Now, other songs, like Copacabana from Frank Bostello, for example, already has a softer and more fun footprint. In addition, it is worth remembering that in duo and court modes, it is necessary to have a minimum of coordination with the friend next to you, to be successful in the song and not disappoint in the “Score Point”.
Just Dance 2016 brings a playlist with about 50 songs which are divided into solo, duo and group – a well-organized catalogue. The songs are varied and a lot of fun, but eventually you'll get tired of them (literally). To this end, Ubisoft brought the Just Dance Unlimited where you perform a subscription (pay) and has access to hundreds of songs new as from other versions of the game (?).
However, there are other interesting additions like the Sweat and Playlist mode where you dance non-stop and have a counter of lost calories, online competition mode, a mode in the style karaoke, a campaign version of the game where you evolve your dance and acquire requested items through your score as a way to see people from all over the world dancing.
A great continuation of the Just Dance franchise is the use of a cell phone, as mentioned at the beginning of our review. This feature is undoubtedly very useful, as not everyone has one. Kinect or PlayStation Eye, for example. However, we tested the application and, we can say that the implemented technology is not perfect. In some ways, we achieved a higher and more accurate score using the Kinect than when using the iPhone on the same song, but it's a perfect item for include friends.
My opinion
- Graphics
- Interface
- Fun
- Gameplay
- Functionalities
Conclusion
Just Dance 2016 It is a game aimed exclusively at fun! Don't wait for a technical game or have to reproduce perfectly all proposed songs. However, it would be more interesting if Ubisoft had included a little more music in the 2016 version, to increase the range of options, as the fixed songs will eventually tire. The game is recommended for enthusiasts and music fans of various genres.
