Loki came to the MCU and while he was just a Thor villain he was already loved. The character has grown so much that it touches every story in the marvel shared universe. And now Kang would have an appearance in Moon Knight! It was a simple but fun easter egg according to the producers!
There was a line in the script, and I don't know if it survived. I can't remember. But there was a line where, I think Steven, is kind of reciting some Egyptian story that he's locked away in his brain, and he mentioned Rama-Tut. I don't remember if that scene, if that line is still in the series or not. But it was so small, was he mentioning a list of famous pharaohs or something. But that was Nick Pepin, one of our execs at Marvel, that it was his idea to put this in there as a fun easter egg.
