“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was recently released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC to enjoy the resumption of the saga in theaters. At the end of 2015 we had the arrival of the film "The force awakens” to the big screen, and now the game adapts this adventure, with some extras and surprises along the way. Check out my review and find out what I thought!
“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” starts in shape impressive. Instead of the adventure starting in theaters episode seven, it begins still in episode six, "Return of the Jedi". In controlling heroes, such as Luke, Han Solo and Leia, the player relives the final moments of the film, which serve as a prologue to the new saga.
After the prologue, we are introduced to the adventures "unpublished”, no longer so new for those who know the film, but that appear for the first time in a LEGO series game. Rey, Finn and even the villain Kylo Ren are present here, very well represented by the way. The game adapts the story very well, but with poetic license to leave everything funnier, in the mood of the toy.
Interestingly, the game did the favor of adding more content in relation to the film, in terms of the story. There are extra or minor characters that appeared in the movies and here gain more strength in side quests, which can unlock various game elements and some extras.
Overall, the newLEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” does well with its story and core content. To get an idea, there are 200 characters, between unpublished and already known from the saga, which don't let the game get repetitive and boring.
As a tradition,LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” presents some new features in the gameplay, which can possibly be used in future titles of the brand. The most curious thing is that you never imagine how they can innovate even more, and they always surprise with the new elements in the controls and puzzles.
One of the most specific changes is the possibility of build items in many different shapes. That construction that occurred destroyed parts of LEGO now it's back, but with several options, which gives a style of "multiple choices” when the player chooses the respective path in the phase.
The shooting sequences, in the best style "Uncharted” or “gears of war“, also drew attention. In "LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens“, the player character needs to get into cover and deal with the horde of enemies that appears in front of him.
In this way, the gameplay transforms a little bit from the action in third person for a legitimate third-person shooter (yes!). There's the fire button, the aim button, and the ability to switch cover mid-action.
As expected,LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has a neat look, very close to what is expected from games involving the famous LEGO. The pieces look real and are destroyed quite naturally during the phases. The characters have design that simulates the original actors, and the levels are huge.
Overall, the game is great, but leaves a little to be desired in the audio part, at least in the version national. Several voices from the original films were switched when dubbing the characters. Despite not compromising so much, since the target audience for children is a little less demanding in this regard, it is annoying to see such a beautiful and neat game have weak audio, literally.
My opinion
- Graphics
- Interface
- Fun
- Gameplay
- Functionalities
Conclusion
“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” appeals to fans of Star Wars and LEGO toys alike, who can count on another game from the saga full of news. There is room for innovation, which is always good, such as, for example: third-person shooters.
In addition, the game is not ugly in visual aspects, despite the dubbing that leaves a little to be desired. Just like the film that inspired it, it is a very fun title and a must for anyone who enjoys it so much "Star Wars"as for the series"LEGO“.
