Avengers: Kang Dynasty writer Jeff Loveness recently chatted about his most recent work on Ant-Man & The Wasp: Quantumania. The film opens Phase 5 of the MCU, Marvel's shared universe of movies and series.
As part of the promotional tour for Ant-Man 3, Marvel released a video celebrating the start of Phase 5, following an MCU record of 18 projects that debuted in Phase 4 between 2021 and 2022. Loveness admitted he doesn't know what phase the MCU is in, but he's heard the term "Phase 5" more in the past two months than in all of time. making the movie. He also said that he understands how many films from the Marvel exist and how fans want them to connect with each other, but it also acknowledges its own history of growing up in a small town with few people around it. Loveness is a kid from a small town of 200 who wanted to make a fun family adventure comedy that people would want to see in theaters.
By all appearances, he's focusing on writing this movie and not worrying too much about the larger Multiverse story. He still wants to include some teases of where the story is going, but his main focus is wrapping up Scott Lang's story and releasing Kang the Conqueror.
