THE CHOICE
Insomniac Games chose Spider-Man as the main character because the team is made up of huge fans of the character and his comics. Additionally, the company wanted to create a superhero game that was unlike anything that had come out before.
MARVEL
During development, the team at Insomniac Games worked closely with Marvel to ensure the game was faithful to the comics. Marvel oversaw every aspect of the game, from the story to Spider-Man's suit design.
THE COSTUME
The game features a wide variety of costumes for Spider-Man, including classic suits from the comics, such as the Black Symbiote Suit, as well as unique suits created by Insomniac Games, such as the "Advanced Suit" suit. Each costume also has unique abilities and bonuses.
THE CITY
New York City in Marvel's Spider-Man was created using real-world references, including aerial photography and detailed maps. The Insomniac Games team also visited New York to get a realistic feel for the city and its iconic landmarks.
THE VOICE
The characters' voice acting was one of the game's highlights, and it included a stellar cast of actors, including Yuri Lowenthal as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, William Salyers as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, and Laura Bailey as Mary Jane Watson. For the game, the team at Insomniac Games also created a new character, the villainous Mister Negative, who was voiced by Liang Shi.
