The next call of duty is already in development and should be released this year and according to insider and journalist Tom Henderson, the new Call of Duty will be titled Modern Warfare III.
The studio responsible for Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is Sledgehammer Games, but like the previous games, several studios are helping with the development. The insider guarantees that it will not be a “DLC” but a complete game being a direct sequel. The title will have a full experience with campaign, multiplayer, zombies and a new Warzone 2 map during the first season. It has been announced that the Las Almas map, featured in the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, will be turned into a full Battle Royale map for Modern Warfare III.
The expectation is that this map will be released during Season 1, scheduled to take place in early December. Players will be able to experience the thrill of combat in a familiar environment, now adapted for the popular Battle Royale game mode.
Modern Warfare III's zombie mode is essentially an enhanced version of Outbreak 2.0. Activision is currently considering different possibilities regarding whether to include this mode in the premium title or whether it would be more appropriate to offer it as a free-to-play experience.
The final decision is still being evaluated, taking into account the interests of the players and the best model to provide a satisfactory zombie mode experience.
