Review: F1 2015

F1 2015

It arrived! One of the most anticipated games of the year, F1 2015, which came with the proposal to be even more realistic than its predecessor. After launching on PC, the title comes to next generation consoles (PS4 and Xbox one). In addition to an unprecedented graphics engine (Engine) for the series, the game also features the drivers of the current season and even more modern and customizable cars for fans of the franchise. Check out my full F1 2015 review!

Apparently, one of the biggest news around here is the simulation of a television presentation, with even more realism and very close to what we see in the real world (literally). The controls have also been improved, especially for gamers who complained about the F1 2014.

It is undeniable that F1 2015 is far superior to the previous ones, whether in terms of gameplay and also in terms of graphics, but that stops there. The look, although reasonable, could still be much more realistic, in the color palette and visual effects, for example. What's more, after games like "driveclub" and "forza motorsport” to be released for the new generation consoles and, in fact, to be the new generation graphics.

Now, in terms of gameplay, F1 2015 is a mix between Simulator and Arcade, more like the first option. However, the big problem is the lack of content together. Codemasters removed any mode characterized as "interactive" from the game, that is, it is not possible to create a pilot or a career mode, in which the player could compete in order to achieve victories with small teams, in addition to receiving invitations to other seasons, in other teams.

In a way, F1 2015 has great potential. However, in relation to the previous version, the new game from Codemasters arrives with few game modes when compared to the old games of the franchise. The multiplayer, for example, has some differences and the main one is the “Race Mode”, where it is possible to participate in the race of the current 2015 season at the same time that the race takes place, for real.

In other words, the stage is available until the next race in real life, that is, the available race is the one in England, for example, which was until yesterday, Sunday, July 26th, when the stage will be the one in Hungary. However, multiplayer is separated by player difficulties. See some of them below:

1 – Beginner, with Beginners Introduction and Beginners Sprint modes;
2 – Medium, with Sprint, Seasonal Favorites and Wheel to Wheel modes;
3 – Advanced, with Advanced Unassisted and Advanced Endurance modes;
4 – Custom Race, the player creates his own event and invites his friends.

Unfortunately, F1 2015 has several bugs, some very serious, which need to be fixed. Some of them have already been fixed with some continuous updates already released by Codemasters itself, but there are still some very “frustrating” ones in the game. However, the same bugs that are being released are being “listed” by the company for a quicker fix.

F1 2015 has some very interesting milestones, for example, the communication between the engineer and the driver can be considered the best of the entire franchise. In fact, the engineer transmits various pieces of information that are considered important and even crucial at certain times.

Now, everything that is said by the engineer has an importance, sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, which is great, since “reality” is achieved, in this aspect. From the weather forecast, general suggestions, the lap times of the opponents, the situation of the vehicle when it has “some problems”, and if the player does not follow the advice given, he will suffer serious damage throughout the race.

Now in visual terms, "F1 2015" can and should be considered as "superior" to previous games, but still, below what is expected in a game aimed at the new generation. Without a doubt, there are clear improvements, mainly in texturing effects, weather effects, particles and the impeccable modeling of circuits, which are more detailed in general. However, when looked at closely, the thing is frightening because of how “pixelated” it is. In other words, it only works from afar.

The game is narrated in Brazilian Portuguese, in a somewhat generic way. In addition, there are also comments that are made before and after each training and/or race. This process is carried out in a very robotic way, as if the “speakers” were reading a text. The truth is that they wouldn't even be needed in F1 2015, unlike the engineer who gives you valuable suggestions throughout the game.

Another point that got a nice “upgrade” is the audio, whether in the roar of the engines that is impeccable. In general, the audio is perfect, the ambient noise and even the sound of the “tyre grip” when going over the curbs and/or off the track, for example, is very well adapted, making it a true work of art. art.

4.5

Conclusion

If you're a racing fan and don't care about creating characters, making a career and evolving throughout the game, “F1 2015” is a giant hit for you, dear gamer. The game hit the nail on the head in terms of gameplay, bringing changes considered important, which please both those who prefer simulators and those who prefer traditional arcades.

However, there are some players who prefer to create their driver and evolve in career modes, receiving invitations from teams, among others. For these players, “F1 2015” is not the ideal game, unfortunately. The fact is that Codemasters took the “Formula 1” franchise to another level, both in terms of gameplay and graphics, but even so it is not a game up to the new generation, as promised by the company.
