Review: Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs is the newest action and realism game from Ubisoft. Released for Windows, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox one and Wii U (yes!). The game's story is very complex and the player controls Aiden Pearce, a hacker whose family was attacked by mobsters. Check out my full review!

The story of the game is very interesting, which includes a lot of player actions to continue and follow paths of your goals. It all starts after the character and his family suffer an attack, which causes an irreparable loss (his daughter). With that, Aiden Pearce is propelled on a wave of justice through the city.

The entire great city of Chicago uses the powerful CtOS system, which connects the entire city, the player will use the city itself as a weapon to change the corrupt system once and for all. Even more impressive in Watch Dogs (besides the graphics) is its storyline, which has fantastic depth.

The great dubbing in Brazilian Portuguese, together with the impressive graphics and the plot, make the player identify with Aiden Pearce's motivation and pain. In addition, it is possible to perceive the weight that the past places on Aiden, making you become increasingly connected to the game's history.

In Watch Dogs, the graphics are impressive regardless of the platform used (in our case, Xbox One). There is even an advantage for those using the computer version, which meet the minimum installation requirements. Even on more basic computers, the graphic part leaves nothing to be desired.

Another point that deserves the various praises by gamers are the fantastic effects of various particles, such as fire (we found a bug!) and explosions. The modeling and also the water mechanics are simply well synchronized with the graphics of the game. The reflections of vehicles, objects, buildings and others are very well reproduced.

The dynamism of the setting is another spectacle in itself in Watch Dogs. The most impressive thing when we talk about weather effects in the game, is how well the rain is reproduced and show not only several drops falling, but their impact on the city of Chicago, such as the wet track and also people protecting themselves from the water.

Taking advantage of the "gain", the construction of objects in the city of Chicago is another positive point that the player notices at first sight. The well-known cutscene starts when the hacker manages to defeat the enemy, but when taking a walk around, it is possible to see the fight that took place in the place due to the objects of the scenario being dropped on the ground.

Another positive point is the high degree of realism in the game, even the projection of light and shadow are very well detailed, even the light on Aiden Pearce's smartphone is lit, illuminating Aiden's face and clothes.

Good background music in games is practically considered a trademark of the developer, as is the case with Assassin's Creed and rayman, for example, which are marked by their unique and immersive soundtracks.

Well, Watch Dogs came to be part of this list, as it proves to be very interesting not only in its graphics, but also in terms of sound. The background music present in Watch Dogs, some a bit melancholy and action-oriented, both radio and ambient, seem to have been chosen with great care.

The campaign mode present in Watch Dogs is very vast, bringing a special proportion to the player with an incredible experience. In Watch Dogs, there are also hundreds of other forms of entertainment, such as capturing criminals, facing other players in different online modes, hacking people and so on.

Speaking of online modes, the game has five different modes: the one known as Online Contracts, in which it will be possible to carry out actions such as chasing a target, hacking it, betting a race against another player, participating in a search for an item regarded as important or also challenging another player through your tablet or smartphone with the CtOS Mobile application (android, iOS).
