Samuel L. Jackson and Nick Fury have become practically the same person after all in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for over ten years he gives life to the character. Having been introduced for the first time as director of SHIELD in the post-credits scene of the first Iron Man film there in 2008. After that, the character appeared several times in films, series or even citation.
More recently, we have the Secret Invasion series on Disney+, which has Nick Fury as one of the main characters. The trailers and information thus far show the director of SHIELD tired and indicate that it may be one of the last times we see the character. Recently, the actor was interviewed and talked a little about his permanence or not in Marvel.
I love playing him and I love the fact that they're opening him up to all these other possibilities and all this life that he has. So hopefully I'm not done, and in this new phase of the MCU I'm still going to be floating in and out of there somehow, somehow.
All of these things are part of a Nick Fury that is invulnerable. Here you have a guy who is showing his face and showing his age. It's an opportunity to humanize someone who everyone thinks is superhuman.
It is clear that even though the actor is nearing the end, he has no great reason to stop playing the character. And even with so many twists and turns in recent Marvel history with so much criticism of recent stories Nicky Fury seems like one of those rare cases where the character is loved and there's still a lot to tell about him.
In any case, there is no shortage of space to fit the character, since after Secret Invasion we will have The Marvels movie where they may need a “guide”, the Captain America movie that will certainly talk about espionage and politics, in addition to the next ones. Spider-Man movies that may also need to feature a "new" Peter Parker. We know that Marvel has been cutting higher fees and renewing stories and characters. Samuel L. Jackson may be on that list, but at least on July 21st we'll be able to watch him once again as Fury in Secret Invasion on Disney +
