Wolverine has been around for just over forty-five years, and like most characters in the Marvel Universe, there are wolverines from across the multiverse and various versions featured in alternate timelines and realities across the multiverse. Today we are going to see together 5 stronger alternative versions of wolverine!
Weapon X
During the Age of Apocalypse event in the late 1990s, characters fans had come to love were all replaced by their alternate universe doppelgängers, who lived during the so-called Age of Apocalypse.
It all started when Legion went back in time to kill Magneto, but he screwed up and killed Professor Xavier. The resulting alternate timeline saw Apocalypse launching his attack on the world a decade earlier, and the resulting timeline was dark.
Each character was different in this new timeline, and would eventually be resolved through some time travel shenanigans pulled off by Bishop.
For Wolverine, he changed considerably and preferred to be known only as Weapon X. He was still a member of the X-Men, although the team looked a little different from Earth-616. Wolverine was much wilder and no longer had a left hand.
Wolverine Vampire
In the universe of earth 9140 Wolverine comes into contact with some vampires, but does not turn into a normal person due to his incredible healing factor. He still turns around, but not in the usual way, as he drinks Dracula's blood, and ends up taking his place as Lord of Vampires.
Now, Wolverine is already one of the deadliest people in the Marvel Universe, usually anyway. So, adding a drive to feast on human blood, coupled with the fact that he's now the leader of a group of super-powered vampires, makes for a murderous undead force that was nearly unstoppable.
Still, he had the same weaknesses as other vampires despite his abilities, so he could be defeated by sunlight, and if a wooden stake could find its way into the heart, it would be goodbye Vampire Wolverine.
Venom + Wolverine
We already know that Old Man Logan is one of the strongest forms of the character, but he had some limitations. His healing factor's lack of potency and the fact that he lives in what amounted to an apocalyptic wasteland earned him a higher spot on this list.
In a battle against Archangel, he casts Venom on Wolverine; in this timeline, Venom was bonded to a Tyrannosaurus Rex. Logan ends up being devoured whole by the symbiote-infected dinosaur, and while that might spell the end for most people, it was just the beginning for Old Man Logan.
The Venom symbiote sensed that Logan was a stronger host than the T-Rex, so it bonded with him. The addition of the symbiote's long list of powers, strengths, and abilities created a deadlier combination than had previously existed in the Marvel Universe.
wolverine zombie
Wolverine is already one of the toughest characters in the Marvel Universe, and with his healing factor, he can come back from just about anything. As long as a single cell is present, he can reform his entire body, but there's one pathogen he wasn't able to fight off, and it came in the form of a zombie plague.
When the zombie virus hit, Wolverine was bitten by both Captain America and Hawkeye, and while it's reasonable to assume he could kill him with his healing factor, it actually didn't. Wolverine has been turned into a zombie, but his story doesn't end there.
He ended up losing his right arm in a fight with the Silver Surfer, but afterwards he and a bunch of other zombified superheroes ate the Surfer's body, gaining the Power Cosmic. Then, when Galactus arrived to consume the planet, Wolverine swung into action once more and ate the Devourer of Worlds!
This gave Wolverine and a few other lucky zombies the Power Cosmic, and with it they traveled the cosmos, eating anything and everyone they could find. Technically, Wolverine is dead in this scenario, but he's also a cosmic power, so he tops the list in terms of strength.
hellverine
Under normal circumstances, Wolverine's Adamantium claws are some of the deadliest weapons on the planet, but they're certainly in need of an upgrade. They received one when a cult that had sworn revenge on Wolverine successfully summoned a demon to possess their enemy.
Newly-possessed Wolverine has been aptly named "Hellverine," but there's more to it than just a simple demonic ride. His claws changed with possession and he displayed a host of new powers, including fire breathing, telekinesis, acid generation, and mind control. His claws glowed with fiery intensity and he became far more powerful than your standard Wolverine.
When he was possessed, Wolverine's soul was trapped in Hell, and Hellverine roamed the planet killing many of the people that were closest to Wolverine. Eventually Wolverine managed to move his soul on the offensive and began an internal battle against the nameless demon.
In the end, the demon was burned from his mind and sent back to Hell.
