Review: Call of Duty WWII

call of duty WWII

Full Call of Duty WWII review! Look who's back: call of duty WWII, or for those closer to the franchise “COD“, did not lack quality. For many, the game had been molding itself to the current reality where futuristic FPS games became “fashion”, but somewhat repetitive.

Since Titanfall that shooting games with different mechanics, with robots and jetpacks, took over the market. With Call of Duty it was no different and we saw several ideas put into practice by activision within the three studios that work with the franchise, some way too much with DLCs and Season Pass. Absolutely all of them have made a futuristic game in the last 4 years. Check out my review and find out if Call of Duty WWII is worth playing! 🙂

The truth is call of duty had been tiring the players with each passing year. However, the franchise is still an outlier, carried by fans. The quality of the past has made the lack of better games currently "forgiven” by some, as long as a new game takes the franchise directly to the point where it made a name for itself a long time ago.

Well, the time has come to COD, which once influenced the market in the past, be influenced by another title? Perhaps the announcement and also the definitive existence of battlefield 1 has shown the need to create a Call of Duty from scratch, going back to the origins. But honestly, after playing the first 30 minutes of campaign mode call of duty WWII it is easy to say that Sledgehammer and Activision already had this vision of returning to the past. And this choice, almost a necessity, was totally correct.

In COD WWII we are definitely back to 1940s, in the midst of the greatest war of all. Germany once again strikes terror into the world, while allied countries such as the United States, France and the British Empire try to take back their territories. The characters in the game try to survive amidst that chaos. It's clear in their eyes that they're scared. Death lurks around any corner, any exchange of fire, in the next mission.

Activision's new game leaves aside the heroism of Soaps, Ghosts and Prices to bring the humanity of Zussman, Pierson, Daniels, Turner and many other characters. The 2nd World War is treated accurately, but there is also a lot of poetry involved. As humanity united to fight a common evil, which were the Germans. However, COD WWII "mix” these elements very well, showing mainly that War is not pretty. It's not easy being in the shoes of those soldiers.

Still, for years the franchise call of duty was noted for its good gameplay. Over the years, the character's automatic recovery of energy has also started to facilitate primary and sequential actions. Before we needed to use the old medicine kits, but in the different games that came Modern Warfare, we can just quietly wait in a corner for our character to recover. Dying in COD was something even abnormal, unless the player chooses a higher difficulty, where there are more enemies.

However, in call of duty WWII we're back in the classic med-kit era and that's really good for the overall dynamic of COD. We can find these recovery items scattered throughout the scenario. However, as some soldiers here have specific items with them, Zussman can help you with more medicine kits. Just ask for it, as long as this skill has been charged. And only Zussman can do that, while other companions have ammo, grenades and the like. If Zussman is not on the mission, no one will help you, and you will need to find the medicine kits along the way.

To perform this analysis, COD WWII was played using the Playstation 4. In it, it was possible to notice that the sight has a level of assistance similar to that of Destiny. By pressing to aim closer with L2/LT, the enemy should be in time to take some good shots. Assistance makes the player's life a little easier, but not to the point of becoming something disloyal or inconsistent. In this regard, COD WWII maintains the tradition of a very fun game to play.

My opinion
  • Graphics
  • Interface
  • Fun
  • multiplayer
  • Gameplay
  • Functionalities
4.9

Conclusion

call of duty WWII” is truly the return of the Activision franchise that all fans and enthusiasts have been waiting for for years. It's a real game without many bugs and straight to the point, with the proposal to try to please everyone. Those who like a good campaign have a great package in their hands. Who likes to multiplayer, has multiple modes and zombies (of course) to shoot at will. Fun, beautiful and very good to play, COD WWII it's a must for fans and a great way to get back to playing the franchise.
